.. well its the new year and i think its appropriate to start something new. i have always loved photography and art. most recently with the purchase of a DSLR camera, i have been taking pics.

i have seen other try a project called 365. basically it is when every day, for a year, a single picture is taken. ill set some rules for myself:
- 1 pic per day
- cannot repeat pics of things
- pics are going to be unchanged (since i cannot modify)
- pic has to be from that day
- pics need some revelance

ill probably add some more rules … but for now this will do …

now to work .. later

With the advent of forums and people with money and free time, people are lurk around seeking to be different from the normal crowd. They give new options for owners to upgrade parts not using aftermarket parts but using oem parts off of other car manufactures or type of vehicle or special edition vehicle. OEM parts are more accessible and can be easily serviced which is a huge advantage for any car owner. it brings down the cost factor which will help any car owner since their funds usually are always lacking.

i have researching alot about upgrading my brakes and came across an interesting fact that the Y33 suspension (infinit q45) has the same suspension setup as an s13/s14. in japan it is a common thing for them to swap out the whole suspension to s13/s14 (including knuckles) inorder to use s13/s14 coilovers, arms, and knuckles (they only change the top hats of the s13/s14 to the y33 top hat so they can simply bolt on.) in japan my big body luxury car is used as a VIP status vehicle displayed as trophy of authority and is also used as a drifting vehicle.

so i then searched for a while on s13/s14 brake upgrades … since ev erything is the same …

the options included using some cadilac ctv calipers, sentra calipers, z32 calipers, gtr calipers, s15 calipers, and two options of brembo calipers .. the evo8/9 and using newer subaru sti gold calipers … or i can do a full custom new brembo setup which costs as much as a motor swap ..

i chose the evo 8/9 brembo calipers since i had cheap access to them and it wasnt going to cost me alot.

they are bigger than the q45 calipers (for some s13/s14 owners the stock q45 calipers are a huge upgrade.) but they werent “attractive” in my opinion. the VIP needs both look and comfort ..

i could have chosen the sti gold brembo calipers … they are bolt on .. as well as the rear calipers are bolt on using a simple small spacer to get the exact fit (it has been done so many times now that the math has been done and rechecked.) but i had no access and i was unwilling to pay that much of money.

the evo8/9 brembo REAR calipers are completely useless!! .. no need for them unless u drill into them and tap into them … and do alot more bull shit .. it isnt worth it .. better off buying the sti gold brembo calipers … but instead i chose to do the z32 turbo caliper …

well while i am talking about not drilling and such … the evo front calipers are not bolt on .. NOOO .. they dont bolt on to your knuckle. you will need a bracket that will position the caliper correctly and make it work right.

so this is the bracket:

the bracket looks very simple but at the same time has taken alot of time to get the way it is. the bracket can be found at numerous places. i myself found a used set for sale on a forum. the price can range anywhere from $100.00 to $300.00 … so do you shopping ..

when i got my set .. they didnt come with bolts …

the bolt specs are:

from there u bolt them on to knuckle like this:

opposite side:

before you jump into doing this swap (it is very tempting .. i know) .. there are issues that come from it. the number one issue is the wheels used after the swap. first of all u will need a minimum of a 17″ rim (depending on barrel type.) as well as enough disc length to clear big calipers ..

on my previous blog post i have only published pics of my wheels, so i think it is time to show the coilovers.

The suspension is the primary part of the build. without the right ride height and camber setup, the look of the car is rather un-presentable ( .. been told the car looks like an old mans mobile.) i had numerous choices for what i wanted for my Y33. my final decision was to purchase a correct Y33 coilover system rather than an airbags system, hydraulic system, or do a s13/s14 suspension swap (includes coilovers) that many people like for it being fully adjustable as well as being fully aftermarket. but for now i think the coilovers will bring the car to a stance i can like and still have the characteristics of the stock car suspension which is primarily focused on being comfortable .

the JIC coilovers i received from HashiriyaExports.com are rather nice and in good condition. they are not the old generation JIC coilovers some importers provide to customers (i would be pissed if i did receive one like that.) there is not a lot of damage to them (besides the main nut for the hub being a little damaged; probably from removal.) there is no signs of leaking or physical damage and still have the dampening adjustment working correctly. so im happy with them.

i looked out the window and saw that the mail man was driving out of drive way .. he had the cart thing turned around ready to unload some stuff. i knew then that he has my items i had been waiting for since April 22, 2009 … it was almost 2 months

thanks to Luke @ hashiriyaexports.com i got my wheels and suspension to get my Y33 VIP build going. Even after waiting for so god damn long, it was really worth it. i was in constant contact with luke and worked with him. the wire transfer part scared me to the point i almost wanted to stop since it was such a huge amount. i have never handed over that much money to anyone !!

but the transaction is done and went excellent!!!!

now i gotta install the coil overs and see how the wheels fit

——————————————————————————-

check out hashiriyaexports.com ……… contact luke and buy stuff ………. he is legit and he will get you the best!!!

——————————————————————————

well i have been in and out of school since 2005. and i am going on my 4th year in college and in my 3rd school. i only have 1 degree (associated of applied science of automotive technician) which i only used productively for 1 year then i decided to go back to school.

i have been trying to get into the medical field (both my parents work in labs in hospitals) and i currently do work in the lab as a processor. but i am still left with an unfurfilled feeling. so i decided to go back to school to get into the radiology tech program at TCC.

through some research i came across reviews of the TCC radiology program and found that they indeed are the Cadillac of radiology programs in the northwest. so i took some classes over and applied.

Out of 124 applicants, i was invited to a manitory orientation with 97 other applicants. out of those 97 applicants 24 are to be picked to be in classes this fall … unfortuantely i was not picked this year.

so now i think im going to take some more classes and also retake some classes. I dont feel any better or any worse being denied from the program, but i do feel more determined to reapply next year.

Besides keeping the house and the lawn to pristine status, he has taken on a couple projects like i have. Previously he and i have tackled a 1991 Honda Civic HB, 80′s something s10 pickup, a honda express scooter, my datsun 510 and old vw bug.

he has currently taken on a new project, a 1982 Yamaha Virgo 750. I do have to agree with my father that this big has some styling that we both agree on. My father has taken the time to bring the paint back to life as well as the chrome accents; this bike has an attitude and sounds mean as hell a WOT! …. pop pop MOFO!

unfortunately the clutch is acting up. so right now i am trying to figure out whats wrong. after some digging on the interweb i have found a free PDF file of the service manual. from there i will see how to diagnos the issue and to know what needs to be review or ultimately replaced. it will be my first time working on a motorcycle and probably wont be the last.

It has a 748cc motor

it isnt a crotch rocket … but sure does look nice

im gonna learn to ride on this motorcycle; i gotta go pickup the booklet and read it. i want to be fully endorsed. Hopefully by next year i will feel comfortable enough and understand my limitations and learn how to hold back and probably pickup a crotch rocket of some sort.

I had some time with draco and colin today

… For the past couple years it has been a big inner battle for Colin to be satisfied with his girl. I have the privilege and opportunity to be around both of them. Colin’s knowledge of the S12 platform is probably the best in USA and he takes full advantage of his knowledge to modify his car to the full extent; mixing and matching parts from multiple generations and platforms in the Nissan platforms; using both USDM or JDM platforms. His builds will never end …

the stripped down stage will scare any veteran car owner … but it is just a good start to a new begining:

YUMMY YUMMY red powder coated valve covers …

A full view of the engine bay … the motor takes up every nook available! ..

Colin always keeps an eye on his girl and puts alot of wrench time into her .. he does mind getting down and dirty with her!

the interior is naked without the Bride seats .. but u can still see the fancy nancy harnesses and the autopowers roll bar sitting in the darkness

the car sits at its undisclosed location …..

MOARRR TO COME!

well thanks to Eddi from nissanpacific.com i will have a new home to organize and display my life … on the internet.

some stats on me …

-21 yrs old

-Hispanic (colombian and ecuadorian)

-graduated high school, 2 years at local community college, 2 years at technical college, and recently in my first year at another community college

-i have worked every job from pool boy, pawn shop, to now a hospital working in the lab

I have been a long time member of nissanpacific.com since 2006 and was nominated to be a moderator quickly after that and have continue to try and input as much as i can into the community. and now on to the car i have owned:

I was the owner of a 1969 datsun 510 that was most recently sold. i purchased it on nissanpacific.com in 2006 around the same time i joined the site.

down to the bones

after a while .. the project went dead … due to my own stupidity … the car ended up stripped with no motor … it makes me cry to see the car that way …

recently i sold it for 1/3 of the price i paid

while attending a local community college (clover park technical college) for automotive technician i came across a car that called my attention … a 1988 bmw 325is …. LSD with bilstein suspension and inline 6 motor called my attention

e30 bliss

after the rebuild … i sold it

now on to bigger and better things .. my current infiniti q45 … with soon to be VIP styling ..

this will be my home away from myspace, facebook , or anything else … ill keep u updated .. this is just the begining
